VintAlert Privacy Policy

VintAlert is a browser extension that notifies you about new listings on Vinted that match the alerts you create. This policy explains what data it handles. In short: your alerts stay on your computer, we don’t run servers that collect your data, and we never sell anything.

What stays on your computer

Your alerts (keywords, categories, max prices), settings and the list of recently found items are stored locally in your browser using the extension storage. They are not sent to us. Uninstalling the extension deletes them.

Vinted

To find listings, the extension requests public search results, categories and item pages from Vinted’s website, the same requests the Vinted website makes when you browse it, using your browser’s existing Vinted session cookies. VintAlert does not read your messages, purchases, profile or payment details, and never buys, messages or changes anything on your account.

Translation (optional)

If “Translate to English” is on, the titles, descriptions and size/condition text of found listings (public listing text, not personal data about you) are sent to Google Translate (translate.googleapis.com) to translate them. You can turn this off in Settings.

Phone notifications (optional, Pro)

If you turn on phone notifications, details of each new find (title, price, size, photo link and listing link) are sent to the ntfy service (ntfy.sh) under a random private code that only you know, so they can be delivered to the ntfy app on your phone. See ntfy’s privacy policy at ntfy.sh/docs/privacy. You can turn this off or change the code at any time.

Payments (Pro)

Pro subscriptions and free trials are handled by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) with payments processed by Stripe. When you start a trial or subscribe, you give your email address (and payment details for a subscription) directly to ExtensionPay/Stripe. VintAlert only receives whether your subscription or trial is active. We never see your card details.

What we don’t do

• No analytics, tracking or advertising.
• No selling or sharing of data with anyone, apart from the services above, which are used only to provide the features you turn on.
• No collection of browsing history outside Vinted.

Children

VintAlert is not directed at children under 16.

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
